Just a few steps across a bridge and you get away from the hustle and bustle of Leavenworth on an early spring weekend. There was packed snow in patches and some mud and puddles, but easy enough to navigate.
The directions in the hike description mention a parking area off Commercial, but we sure didn't see one. We parked on the street in town, which is primarily paid parking. Another option would be to start the hike at Enchantment Park (see separate hike description), which accesses the same tails and has some parking.

Snowy hike along the river in downtown Leavenworth. The whole trail is hard packed snow and it’s super icy just getting to the trail and over the bridges. Be careful and consider yaktrax. No snowshoes needed. Beautiful day!
