We had a great day putting in new turnpikes and drainage troughs at a portion of the trail that had excess water issues.
The crew was great and the leadership was awesome. Thanks Elizabeth and all who participated !
BTW - The portion of trail we worked on was accessed by going south from the parking lot on a new short connector trail. And- trail Tell state parks to fix their bad wheelbarrow.

This was a much-needed walk, and easy on my legs that are weary from warehouse work. The ups and downs are gradual but still made me feel like i was getting some productive exercise in. Plenty of benches along the way to relax and listen to nature.
I'm sad I didn't come here sooner. It's one of those 'it's close by so I can go anytime' kind of parks that I kept putting off until I really needed something close and relaxing to cleanse my mind.
Will likely make this a regular spot, highly recommend!
This trail was magical and not too rough for hikers who want a starting trail for the summer. It was long enough that I felt like I got some good exercise but it was not at all strenuous. There are placards along the trail to read about some of the trees and foliage, we loved that part of the hike. At one point there was bids singing everywhere and it was beautiful music. We even sat on a bench to listen to see how many sounds we could hear and come up with.
We were followed by a bee that left us alone, by alone I mean didn’t sting. Maybe the little bee wanted a friend? If you are allergic to bees take some Benadryl or Epi pen. The flowers were in the very beginning stages of blooming. The trail was a little muddy in different parts along the way but nothing that would deter you off, I say that because I don’t like mud and I went. We finished without mud anywhere other than some on our shoes, which is expected.
Totally worth the hike and will def be going back because it’s so quaint and beautiful.

Perfect day alone in the outdoors.
Plenty of rest areas along trail. Heard lots of birds, including woodpeckers. Clear, breezy and chilly.
I did carry along my backpack with water, food, sunblock, anti itch spray, Kleenex...very glad I brought it, as I did need to peel of some layers.
I hit the trail at around 12:30 & it was not crowded at all.
