Tolmie is simply a beautiful and lush park.  And it's mushroom season.  There were lots of different kinds.  My favorite was fairies' parachute.  It was fun watching the water come in the stream with the surface covered in seaweed, and seeing small fish using the seaweed as cover.  The afternoon was glorious.

I wanted a short hike to try out my replacement camera and Four Cedars was perfect! It's only a 2 mile hike, but it's beautiful, especially with all the mushrooms popping up. The Fall colors haven't really come out yet, at least in this part of Olympia. The trail is in good condition and wasn't too wet. I saw about 8 other people on the little loop and there were more people out clamming(?) on the beach at the end. If you are in the Olympia area and need a good leg stretcher, check it out!

Loved this hike! It was a beautiful quick almost 2-mile loop trail that runs through the old growth red cedars. I think it's a fairly easy hike. I stayed to the left and took the loop clockwise. There is a shortcut if you don't want to do the full loop. Also a few benches along the way to stop and take in the beauty. It's a great quiet afternoon walk. There's also beach access at the parking lot and picnic tables. I did the short little walk about to the beach, too.

Pleasant hike with interpretive signage about the cedars and wetlands. Plenty of parking near the beach on a Friday afternoon. We saw a few people and no other dogs.

Beautiful weather! Toddlers made it about halfway before getting carried. Great foliage coverage.

Loganberries are getting ripe and thimbleberries should be ready soon!

Low tide at ~9:00 am
